How to NOT get robbed in Spain…by Dr. Celestino Ruiz

Okay, this is Dr. Celestino Ruiz, the one in charge of our program. He is HILARIOUS!! I hope you can see that through the video. But watch this to know how to stay safe in Madrid! (I especially like the ketchup part!)

Los consejos de Dr. Celestino Ruiz:

  1. Someone might seem to accidentally put ketchup (or foam) on you and then try to clean you off…and take your money while they’re at it.
  2. Someone might bump you and take your stuff.
  3. Ladies, hold your purse with two hands. Sometimes they cut the straps of your purse and then everything you have is gone.
  4. Don’t walk too close to the street, especially on corners.
  5. Don’t take a walk on streets where there aren’t any people. OUT!!

Hey Tally,

Modern technology is amazing. We're thankful that you made it safely, but missed you on the fourth. Get Jake to tell you about Grandad leading the way up the mountain at Fire's Creek.
I'm going to enjoy living vicariously through you during your adventure in Spain. I like to see new places, but I hate the travel it takes to get to those wonderful places. Take care of yourself!

Hey Tally, Wow! Just wonderful to see you in the streets of Spain--looked so charming! It's going to be so much fun to check out your website daily and follow all your adventures! Wondering if there is going to be some hoopla in Espana since Rafael Nadal won the Wimbledon tournament--keep me posted! Love you lots! Mom XXOO

Hey Tally,

Most interesting lesson! Extremely funny as well. Out of curiousity how accessable is Madrid: visual, audio, and other such disabilities... I'm pretty secure using a 300 lb. power chair, lol! We leave tomorrow for Atlanta. Sean

Hi, Tally. So glad you are loving Madrid! Stan and I just got back from France and Spain (Barcelona only this time) a couple of weeks ago. We just heard through Stan's former professor who lives in Madrid that it is hotter than blazes there right now. Drink lots of water (and eat lots of tapas---YUM). Oh, I miss the wonderful Spanish food. Take care. We look forward to reading your updates. Hasta luego.

Tally,
I look forward to seeing your daily updates. What a great time you will have! Just beware of ketchup-toting strangers bumping you on corners and empty streets! Hal and I were in Barcelona with Sidney and Stan a couple of weeks ago...yum, yum: tapas and paella! I imagine there was much celebration this past Sunday in Madrid when Nadal won at Wimbledon.
